American Federal Settee/Highback Loveseat. Empire design parlor settee or hall loveseat from about 1900 is mahogany with new upholstery. “Sleigh” curved ends/scrolled arms with elegant ormolu decoration on arms and below seat cushion enhances the charm of this piece. The restored finish on the frame is in very good condition, preserving just enough mars for authentic charm and character. It is an American made library loveseat that is soft to sit on and comfortable with two silk striped pillows. No tears, rips or stains, from a non-smoking home. Comes with two elongated silk covered feather pillows. Dimensions: 70″ Width, 28″ Depth, 41″ Height and Seat Height is 18″. Upholstery is pattern on color: Peach/Apricot. This piece was purchased from Stones Throw Antiques in Lennox, MA in 1995 and shipped to our home for $1,200 and $375 added for shipping, so we had quite an investment in selecting this iconic piece. We have since downsized and no longer have a place in our new condo for this gem, as it served its purpose to our family over the past 28 years. The settee was in our guest room and did not have much wear. Similar pieces sell anywhere from $3,000- and no one is making more of these. It will appreciate with time. Luck of a local nearby in finding it. It is a solid piece for a remarkable price. Local pick up 612 Central Street only.
