Description
Decorator Industries, Inc. was established in 1953 and is still manufacturing custom bedding today. This bedpread, or bed cover was likely purchased and used circa 1950s-70s. It had been boxed for decades, and is in remarkably good condition. The floral colors are pink / mauve and mossy green on light beige background. It is quilted, heavyweight and bulky. It is designed to dress a bed with a headboard and no footboard to allow the rounded corners at the base of the bed to grace the edges. It resembles a jacquard or damask pattern, but is made from 100% polyester.
94″W x 112″L
There are two seams, 24″ in from each side. It is designed to fit on a bed with a 24″ drop and a 46″ width across the surface. Each seamed section measures 24″, 46″, 24″.
Modern mattress measure: 39″ twin, 54″ full and 60″ queen. Therefore, the seams will not fit exactly to the edges on modern-day mattresses. Note that the length is 112″, designed for extra room to fold over pillows.
