Dealer Biography #504 Nichole Purviance

Please welcome our new vendor, #504 Nichole Purviance also known as “Red Bird Vintage Market”.
Her booth is located in the NE Corner of the Third Floor and she started with us on January 1, 2016
Nichole specializes in vintage glassware, specifically Pyrex. You know, the colorful stuff with the fun patterns!
Why is current Pyrex so boring?

As to why she got into this business, she says “I’ve always enjoyed antiquing. When I was a little girl, my mother used to take me with her when she went and I always had fun looking at all the interesting and unique pieces. I got into vintage glassware because I enjoy the variety. There’s lots of fun, colorful pieces out there. I personally collect certain patterns and decided it would be fun to share the other pieces I find with those that enjoy them as much as I do.

Other occupations? This is IT!

Nichole is also interested in interior design and keeping up with the latest trends in home remodeling and decor and trying her hand at a little “DIY”.

May 2012

We met a couple of weeks ago.  We were both at the River Market Antique Mall and I passed her idling in a booth at the top of the stairs on the second floor.  We said “hello”, though I was in a rush and moved on without exchanging pleasantries.

She made an impression.  Well-built, stable, but a little wobbly under pressure, I thought we might have a few things in common.  When I returned home from vacation I went back and asked her if she’d like to stay with us for a while.  She said yes, she has an adventurous spirit.  I paid her back rent, twenty-four dollars, and brought her home to meet the boys.  They think she is swell.

Ready for a fresh start, wanting to put her past behind her, she’s looking for new names.

We are open to suggestions.
